 게임 설명

 

1990년 TAD라는 회사에서 오락실용으로 만든 슈팅 게임.

카발의 후속작으로 같은 인터페이스에서 무대만 서부극으로 바뀐 속편격 게임이다.

대부분의 오락실에서는 (카발 3)라는 이름을 붙여서 영업했는데, 카발 2의 소재는 불명.

 

카발 1의 두 주인공이 옷 색깔만 다른데 반해 카발 3은 1P는 쌍권총을 든 총잡이, 2P는 장총을 든 아메리카 원주민 (인디언)으로

묘사되었으며 수류탄 대신 다이너 마이트를 던졌다.

적도 인디언이나 총잡이, 1편의 장갑차량이나 헬리콥터 대신 마차와 비행선이 나왔다.

그러나 스테이지 클리어 후 플레이어의 그 경박한 모습은 여전해서 이것이 컬트적인 인기를 끌기도 했다.

 

2-4면의 배경에서 불타는 건물들은 소설 원작의 헐리우드 영화 '바람과 함께 사라지다'의 오마쥬인듯 하다.

근데 집채만한 뱀이 튀어나오고 독수리가 날아다니며 화염탄을 날리고, 시대를 앞서간 듯한 하이테크 열차나 폭격기도 보이는

걸 보면 아무래도 보통 서부는 아닌 듯 싶다.

 

1보다 후대에 나온 만큼 보다 깔끔한 그래픽과 선명한 음향효과가 인기를 끌었다. 더불어 카발보다 더 빠르다.

AI 패턴도 난이도가 높을수록 총알이 빨라지고 적이 모이는 리젠 속도가 장난 아니다.

돼지라는 요소로 무기를 주는 패턴이 존재한다. 홍돼지는 다이너 마이트, 살색돼지는 오토 머신 건, 흑돼지는 세미 머신건을

준다.

 

행글라이더와 기구를 이용한 포격도 장난 아닌만큼 굉장히 빠른 움직임과 조준이 필요하다.

카발처럼 총이 연사가 아닌 띄엄띄엄 공격이라, 결론적으로는 머신 건을 얻지 못하는 이상은 마구 두들겨야 한다.

다만, 세미 머신 건은 파괴력이 엄청나기 때문에 보스전에서 가장 각광받는 무기 중 하나이다.

깡통이 존재하는데 땅에 착지하지 않는 상태에서 연속으로 명중시킬 경우, 1UP, 10,000점, 20,000점, 머신 건 등을 드랍한다.

게임이 어렵다고 느껴지면 이것을 연달아 맞춰보자.

In the far west, ruthless bandits terrorized the good people and is up to you to stop them and their vast

weapon arsenal in order to bring peace to this troubled land. Features destructible background objects

and lots of weapons!

Despite the western concept, this game features almost identical mechanics to TAD's previous shooter "Cabal".

- TIPS AND TRICKS -

* Here's A Way To Play Blood Bros. For As Long As You Want :

1) Get to the second screen (preferably without dying on the first screen).

2) Shoot the building on the right side of the screen and start shooting the trees in the background on the

right. 20,000 points fly out from each bunch of trees. Continue.

3) That is basically it. A few problems occur and here is how to counter them :

3a) 5 men run across the back from the left and throw grenades : Just shoot the grenades before they get

to you. Eventually they come out less often, and will stop altogether.

3b) The men on the right come out from the edge to shoot you : Same as above. They stop eventually.

3c) A plane flies over and drops bombs : Same as above. It stops after some time.

3d) After a certain amount of time a bird comes out to kill you : Let it. Only 2 birds ever come out

(sometimes only 1) and then they also stop coming. This is why it pays not to die on the first screen.

4) Hold your finger on the button to keep shooting the trees (sticky-tape works well here) and prepare to

get 'really' bored. Play the neighboring game so that you can keep an eye on it.

* Extra Live : On the 1-1 and 4-1 stages, the tin can be shot eight times to give you a free man.

If you miss it, don't bother trying again - you only get one chance.
